Results from ITA Regionals

(Salina, KS) – The men's and women's tennis teams sent several players to compete at the ITA Regionals in Salina, KS on Friday and Saturday.

In the women's round of 64 singles section, junior Josline Carter won her first match easily over Oklahoma Wesleyan, 6-2, 6-0. She then faced Bethel in the round of 32, falling 6-2, 6-3. Junior Victoria Harris took the opening set, 6-4, to McPherson in the round of 64, but lost 6-1 in the second set and 10-5 in the third set tiebreak. Harris lost 8-2 to Evangel in the consolation round of 32. 

In the women's round of 32 doubles section, Carter and Harris won their round of 32 doubles match over William Woods, 8-4, before falling to Bethel, 8-5, in the round of 32.

In the men's round of 64 singles section, sophomore Joel Carter lost his opening match in the round of 64 to Bethel, 6-3, 6-2. He then faced Ottawa in the consolation round of 32, falling 8-3. Senior Ethan Mins lost 6-0, 6-0 to Morningside in the round of 64, then lost 8-2 in the consolation round of 32 to Concordia.

In the men's round of 32 doubles section, Carter and freshman Ben Hafer lost their round of 32 doubles match to Bethel, 8-1, before falling to Doane, 6-4, in the consolation round of 32.

The Broncos will host their Bronco Invite on Oct. 3-4 to wrap up their fall portion of the schedule.
