Four Lady Broncos Earn NAIA Scholar-Athlete Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo.– The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Friday that 60 competitive cheer and 50 dance student-athletes have been named 2016-17 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. For cheerleading, Concordia (Neb.) and Grand View (Iowa) lead all institutions with five individuals. Graceland (Iowa) is tops for dance programs sending seven individuals on the list.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status.

Devon Wetteland (JR/Highlands Ranch, CO) earned the honor with a 4.0 GPA as she is majoring in Marketing and Web Communication Design
Natalie Bernero (SR/Highlands Ranch, CO) earned the honor with a 3.67 GPA as she is majoring in Mathematics and minoring in Economics
Katie Janky earned the honor with a 3.79 GPA as she is majoring in Web Communication Design.
Emmy Reimer (SR/Lincoln, NE) earned the honor with a 3.81 GPA as she is majoring in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Special Education
