(Hastings, NE) – Hastings College Athletic Director Chris Clements announced today that DeAndre Robinson has been named as the head women's flag football coach for the Hastings Broncos' new program.
"We are thrilled to welcome DeAndre to Hastings College and our community. With the start of our new women's flag football program, we are excited to see DeAndre kick off and build the program, while enhancing the student-athlete experience on and off the field," Clements said.
Robinson comes to Hastings after spending the last five-and-a-half years at Eagle's Landing High School in Henry County, GA, where he was the women's flag football coach, and spent parts of his time there as a coach for the men's and women's basketball and soccer teams. In 2020 and 2021 he led his team to become Area Champions, with his 2021 team reaching the Elite Eight.
"I'm incredibly excited to build the foundation of women's flag football here at Hastings College. This is a special opportunity to create something new, develop a strong culture, and make a meaningful impact on the growth of this emerging sport. I look forward to giving our student-athletes a first-class experience on and off the field as we establish ourselves in the national landscape," Robinson said.
While at Eagle's Landing High, Robinson developed and executed structured training programs that enhanced skill development, game strategy, and overall athletic performance across multiple sports. He mentored student-athletes by emphasizing leadership, accountability, and sportsmanship to achieve personal and team goals.
He spent parts of nine years before his time at Eagle's Landing High working in a variety of coaching roles at Darton State College in Albany, GA, Collins Hill High School in Suwanee, GA, and Washington Middle School in Cairo, GA.
While studying at Albany State beginning in 2014, Robinson spent time as the Head Basketball Coach at the Georgia Go Hard Travel Organization recruiting and training athletes, in addition to being the Assistant Sports Director and Youth Sports Coach at the Albany Area YMCA.
Robinson graduated from Albany State University in 2019 with a degree in Health and Human Performance and is finalizing a master's degree in Science Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University later this month.
"Players and fans can expect high energy, strong leadership, and a commitment to excellence every single day," Robinson said. "My focus is on developing disciplined, competitive, and confident student-athletes who embody the values of Hastings College. We will play fast, smart, and together. Fans can also expect me to be an advocate for the growth of women's and girls' flag football throughout the region, helping expand opportunities and inspire the next generation of athletes. I'm committed to building a program our campus and community can proudly stand behind."
