Men's Golf Takes 7th at Mid-South Classic
(Newton, KS) - Looking to improve from their opening meet, the men’s golf team took seventh out of 12 teams at the Mid-South Classic in Newton, Kansas. Hastings had a terrific second round, shooting a team-best -3, which marks the school record for the lowest 18-hole round.
(Newton, KS) - Looking to improve from their opening meet, the men's golf team took seventh out of 12 teams at the Mid-South Classic in Newton, Kansas. Hastings had a terrific second round, shooting a team-best -3, which marks the school record for the lowest 18-hole round.
Individually, senior Gabriel Escalera led the Broncos with a fifth place finish at -4. He had a terrific start, getting a -4 score in the opening round, before hitting a +1 and -1 in rounds two and three.
Junior Max Nielsen had a steady performance, opening with an even round one, then he had a -1 second round and a +3 third round to finish +2 overall. Junior Henry Kosmicki also added a top-25 finish, placing 23rd with a +5 score.
Junior Ryker Dunkley and sophomore Trevor Seeley competed as well, placing 59th and 75th, respectively.
Up next, Hastings will compete at the Siouxland Invite on September 9th and 10th in Orange City, Iowa.
