Shotgun Sports Finishes 5th at FHSU
Hays, KS - The Hastings College shotgun sports team took part in the Fort Hays State University Shoot this past weekend finishing fifth out of 11 teams. FHSU won the team event with 1629 total points whiel Hastings finished with 1486.
The team finished in a tie for fourth in skeet doubles with a score of 223. Kaden Evans (SO/Hastings, NE) and Ty Parsons (SO/Bend, OR) each connected on 46-of-50 while Tanner Dager (FR/Oneida, NY) and Wyatt Anderson (JR/Palmer, AK) hit 45-of-50 targets.
Hastings went on to finish fifth in trap with a score of 483. Zac Silos (FR/North Platte, NE) led the way by hitting 99-of-100 with Kyle Frederick (FR/Doniphan, NE) right behind him at 98-of-100. Dager finished with a score of 96-of-100 while Tristin Duff (JR/Alburquque, NM) and Parsons each connected on 95-of-100 targets.
Again, in trap doubles, the Broncos finished fifth there with a score of 417. Dager and Silos led the way for Hastings with a score of 85-of-100 while Parsons scored 84-of-100.
And in the Sporting Team event, HC went on to finish sixth with a score of 388. Anderson led the way for Hastings with a score of 83-of-100 and Parsons finished hitting 81-of-100.
Hastings will now turn its attention to the Midland Ice Out hosted by Midland University Sept. 17 and 18 in Lincoln, NE.
