Shotgun Sports Places 2nd at Nationals
San Antonio, TX – The Hastings College shotgun sports team competed down at the ACUI & STPC Collegiate Clay Target National Championships this past week as the Broncos finished as national runner up in the D3 Division with a HOA score of 2756. Drury won the D3 title with a HOA score of 2804.
San Antonio, TX – The Hastings College shotgun sports team competed down at the ACUI & STPC Collegiate Clay Target National Championships this past week as the Broncos finished as national runner up in the D3 Division with a HOA score of 2756. Drury won the D3 title with a HOA score of 2804.
The Broncos finished second in Super Sporting with a score of 463, third in Sporting Clays with a score of 427, third in Doubles Skeet with a score of 477, and fourth in doubles trap with a score of 463.
Rennick Turner led the way in super sporting by hitting 95-of-100 targets while Hunter Gilbertson was right behind him by hitting 93 targets.
Tanner Dager led the way in sporting clays by hitting 88-of-100 targets while Austin Hofts was right behind him by hitting 87 targets.
In doubles skeet, Ty Parsons and Gilbertson led the way by hitting 93-of-100 targets each.
Gilbertson also led the way in doubles trap by hitting 95-of-100 targets while Dalton Sinsel hit 94 targets. Gilbertson also earned Honorable Mention All-American honors with his performance
This is the second year in a row that Hastings has gone to nationals and brought home second place.
