Women's Tennis Fends Off Hanover in 5-4 victory
Louisville, KY – The Hastings College women’s tennis team picked up win No. 6 by edging out Hanover College 5-4 on Tuesday evening as part of their spring break trip.
Louisville, KY – The Hastings College women's tennis team picked up win No. 6 by edging out Hanover College 5-4 on Tuesday evening as part of their spring break trip.
No. 1 singles Theresa Price and Paige Willcoxon battled to an 8-4 victory over Lyla Waskom and Rachel Pinnick.
The Lady Broncos dropped the No. 2 double match but Emma Markle and Maddie Ketcham made quick work of Lauren Hale and Hailey Vandeventer at No. 3 singles to take the early 2-1 advantage heading into singles action.
Price dominated at No. 1 singles over Pinnick 6-2, 6-1 to go up 3-1 but Hanover came back to win at No. 2, 3 and 4 singles to take a brief lead.
But HC would not be denied as Ketcham defeated Vandeventer 6-3, 6-4 at No. 5 singles and Markle defeated Hale 6-2, 6-4 to seal the victory for the Lady Broncos.
Hastings improves to 6-2 on the year and will be back in action Friday Mar. 17 taking on Okland City College at 10:00 am to finish its spring break trip to Kentucky.
