Alex's Lemonade Stand's mission is "to change the lives of children with cancer through funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer."
Alex was diagnosed with cancer in 2000 and set up his first lemonade stand later that year. He passed away in 2004 at the age of eight, but his parents have continued the legacy that Alex started. Alex's Lemonade Stand has raised more than $300 million since Alex's first stand and became the largest independent childhood cancer charity in the U.S.
