Baseball Loses Two to No. 19 Doane
Crete, NE – The Hastings College baseball team dropped its doubleheader to Doane on Sunday 7-1 and 12-2 (7 innings) as the series ends in a 2-2 tie.

The Broncos didn't have the luxury of the big park that is Duncan Field and the Tigers showed how tough they can be on a smaller field.
Hastings fell behind 7-0 before Eli Merritt drilled a home run to center in the seventh for the lone run of the game. The Broncos managed just four hits in the game one loss.
Game two was the big inning that haunted Hastings as Doane ripped off six runs in the first and pushed two more home in the second for an 8-0 lead.
The Broncos pushed two runs home in the fourth as Tyler Kissler smacked a RBI double that scored Jaden Stone. Tyler Welsh then singled home Trent Smith to make it 8-2 but Doane went on to run rule the Broncos with the 12-2 victory.
Hastings had just six hits in the game two loss while going through four pitchers through six innings.
The Broncos are now 10-20 (4-6) on the year and will be back in action Friday Apr. 7 as Northwestern comes to town for a doubleheader with first pitch set for 1:00 pm out at Duncan Field.
