(Crete, NE) – Competing in their first conference dual since Midland right before holiday break, the men's wrestling team lost, 50-6, at Doane on Friday night.
Midland took control early with a pin at 125, then drew three consecutive tech falls in the bouts that followed to go up 21-0. The Warriors got another pin at 157, then after a tech fall at 165, they recorded three more pins to go up 50-0.
Freshman Koen Mattern saved the Broncos from the shutout with a pin at the 4:46 mark over Jaren Jackson at 285 to make the final score 50-6
Up next, Hastings will compete at the two-day Missouri Valley Invitational beginning on Friday, January 24 at 12pm in Marshall, Mo.
