2023-24 - First GPAC Player of the Year in school history as he averaged better than 24 points per game which places hit tied for fifth nationally while also leading the team with 7.5 rebounds per game. Set the single season scoring record with 770 points this past season and sits 28th all-time in scoring with 1,329 points in just two seasons. He became the 46th player in school history to score 1,000 points in his career.

Was named 1st Team All-American which is the first in Hastings College history

GPAC Player of the Week for his 27 point performance against Midland on Nov. 21. Then earned back-to-back GPAC Player of the Week for his 29 point performance in the win over Dordt and his 33 point performance in the win over Dakota State. Earned Player of the Week honors for averaging 29.5 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game in wins over Mount Marty and Briar Cliff during the week of Feb. 12. Thomas also broke a 42-year old record by breaking the single season sophomore scoring record which was 590 points and was set by Mark Hiatt during the 1981-82 season.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its three men’s basketball All-America teams Monday, just days after the conclusion of the 86th annual NAIA Men’s Basketball National Championship. Elijah Malone of Grace (Ind.) was named the NAIA Player of the Year after guiding the Lancers to an incredible 34-2 record and a berth to the NAIA Fab Four. Additionally, Drew Stutts of Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) was named the NAIA Coach of the Year after leading the Lions to a come-from-behind win to capture the 2024 NAIA Men’s Basketball Red Banner.

(Sioux City, Iowa) – Reggie Thomas of Hastings College has been selected as the Hauff Mid-America Sports/Great Plains Athletic Conference(GPAC) Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Year and headlines the GPAC Basketball All-Conference Teams for 2023-24. Thomas averaged 24.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game for the Broncos who went 20-8 overall and 15-5 in conference play during the regular season, earning a share of the GPAC regular season title.

Hastings, NE – The Hastings College men’s basketball team took on a battle-hardened Briar Cliff team and was able to pull away late to defeat the Chargers 76-61 on Wednesday night inside Lynn Farrell Arena in the quarterfinals of the Great Plains Athletic Tournament.

33 Years in Waiting But the Broncos are Conference Champions

Crete, NE – It’s been 33 years since the Hastings College men’s basketball team had won a regular season conference title. The Great Plains Athletic Conference didn’t exist as the Broncos’ last conference crown came back during the Nebraska Iowa Athletic Conference days but all of that changed on Saturday afternoon when the Broncos defeated Doane 83-70 to claim a share of the GPAC regular season title with Northwestern and Concordia. Hastings finally ended the drought that brought plenty of cheers and of course a cold shower for Head Coach Todd Raridon.
