Men's Bowling Goes 7-3, Takes 3rd at NAIA West Open
(Lawrence, KS) – The men’s bowling team took third out of 16 teams at the NAIA West Open on Saturday and Sunday, going 7-3 with a total pin count of 9500, only behind Kansas Wesleyan and Avila. Hastings went 4-1 in day one, tied for the third-best record, then went 3-2 in the baker games on day two.

Hastings went 4-1 in day one, tied for the third-best record, then went 3-2 in the baker games on day two.
Individually, junior Brayden Schmieding placed 10th with a total of 1046 in five games, averaging 209.2. He had three games of over 200, including 247 in game two and his 252 in game five was the second-highest of all competitors in that game.
Junior Kaden Kuusela placed 25th with a total pin count of 1013 and a 202.6 average. Three of his five games were over 200, including a 224 in game five. Junior Anthony Morella finished 46th with a total of 949 and 189.8 average in his five games, going over 200 in the first and fifth games.
Sophomore Jimmie Bradley finished 60th with a total of 904 pins and an average of 180.8 in five games. Sophomore Colin Jaster took 97th with a pin count of 744, averaging 186 in his four games. Sophomore Bladyn Hogan posted a one-game score of 147.
Up next, Hastings will compete at the KCAC Championships on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 8am.
