Broncos Earn 3 First-Place Finishes at Doane

In the 600m run, junior Deshawn Burks ran a great race (1:25.54) and narrowly edged out Doane to take first with just under half of a second to spare. Freshman Evan Struss later won the 800m run with a time of 2:03.10, edging out second-place Doane by a second. Senior Tatum Jelleberg was the third Bronco to win their races, as he won the 3000m with a time of 9:36.84.
Junior Tyler Salter took second in the 1000m (2:33.64), just three hundredths of a second behind first-place Doane. Freshman Parker Graves put forth a third-place finish with a time of 4:50.23. Sophomore Rafer Severson had success in the 400m dash taking third, sprinting around the track for a time of 52.05.
Also in the 400m, freshman Spencer Hille was close behind Severson as he placed seventh with a time of 53.09. Sophomore Zane Eggleston (53.80) and junior Derek Trompke (56.98) also competed in the 400m, taking ninth and tenth place.
In the 200m dash, Severson finished in fifth place (23.49), sophomore Noah Hudnall was seventh (23.75), freshman Rayne Chavez-Major was eighth (24.15), and freshman Adrian Lobeda was 10th (25.05).
Hastings competed in the 4x400m relay and the team of Salter, Burks, Graves, and Struss teamed up to take fourth in the event with a time of 3:35.63.
Severson was the top Hastings finisher in the men's long jump with a leap of 20'07.75" to take seventh. Hille (20'05.00") was eighth and freshman Cody Defeo (20'04.50") rounded out the top 10 for Hastings in the event by taking ninth. Chavez-Major took 11th (19'04.25") and junior Chance Elwood was 13th (18'04.25") in the long jump.
Hille also competed in the high jump, taking eighth in the event (6'02.00") and junior Markus Vigil was 10th (6'00.00").
In the throwing events, junior Edward Pallotto placed 16th with a throw of 43'08.00" in the weight throw. Also in the weight throw, freshman Trey Parriott took 18th (42'00.50"), with sophomore Titus Glanz right behind at 19th (41'08.50").
Senior Evan Morara was the top placer for the Broncos at nine in the shot put with a throw of 44'04.25". Freshman Trey Parriott (40'01.50") finished 15th and freshman Jorge Vazquez (39'11.50") was 17th in the event.
Up next, Hastings will travel to Seward, NE to compete in the Concordia Polar Dog Invite at 12pm.
