Patterson Puts Exclamation Point on Win Over York
Hastings, NE – It was senior night for the Hastings College men’s wrestling team as Jake Patterson was recognized as the lone senior on this year’s squad so he match at 157 would be saved for last as the Broncos defeated York 33-19 on Friday night inside Kiewit Gymnasium.

After the Broncos suffered a loss at 165 to start the night, Naim Abualjubain held on for dear life after opening up a big lead to defeat Dayton Fraser 12-11 to get HC on the board. York would forfeit at 184 as Hastings now led 9-4.
Dallas Paxton was up at 197 where he would pin Nash Crane at the 5:47 mark as the Broncos opened up the lead to 15-4. After losing at 285, Justin Rodriquez would eventually get Ryan Armstrong on his back as he would get the pin fall victory to put Hastings up 21-10.
York picked up wins at 133 and 141 to make it 21-17 but Jack Morton would pin Andy Garza at the 2:45 mark followed by the fastest pin of the night for the Broncos as Patterson defeated Johnathon Vincent at the 1:46 mark of the match as Hastings took the dual 33-19.
The Broncos will now turn its attention to the GPAC Championships coming up Feb. 16-17 out in Seward, NE.
