Kaz and Turner Lead Women's Wrestling at Falcon Invite

Park City, KS – The Hastings College women's wrestling team competed in the Falcon Invite and here are the results from the event hosted by Friends University.
At 123, Larissa Kaz began her day with a quick pin over Vanessa Nebre of Cumberland. In the quarterfinal she faced Allison Doppenberg of York where she pinned her in less than a minute to move into the semis. There she picked up a 10-0 tech fall over Alisha Van Scoy of Saint Mary to move into the championship match. There she took on Cristelle Rodriguez of Doane where she would fall via a 10-0 tech fall as she settled for the silver medal.
At 143, Kaydince Turner opened her day with an 11-0 tech fall victory over Princess Altsisi of Iowa Central. In the next round she faced off against Sierra Snodgrass of Schreiner where she pinned her at the 1:03 mark propelling her into the semifinals. There she took on Morgan Mayginnes of Baker picking up a 10-2 decision as she also made her way into the finals. It was here where she finally took a loss as Mea Mohler of Texas Wesleyan defeated her 12-4 as she also brought home the silver medal.
At 109, Candice Brickell picked up her first collegiate victory by defeating Ashley Yamat of Avila via a 12-2 tech fall. After fall in the next round, she faced off against E'owynn Reynard of Saint Mary where she won via a pin to advance. Next, she faced Angie Rediger of Saint Mary picking up another pin as she moved into the consolation semifinals where her day would come to an end as Laura Lincoln of Missouri Valley defeated her with a pin fall.
Other ladies who won matches were Alondra Becerra (155) and Brianna Miller (130).
Hastings will be back in action Thursday Nov. 10 hitting the road to dual Friends set to begin at 7:00 pm down in Wichita, KS.
