Freshmen Compete at FHSU Freshman Shoot
(Hays, KS) – The freshmen of the Hastings Shotgun Sports team traveled to compete at Fort Hays State University Freshman Shoot on Saturday and Sunday.
(Hays, KS) – The freshmen of the Hastings Shotgun Sports team traveled to compete at Fort Hays State University Freshman Shoot on Saturday and Sunday.
Abbie Blackwell took ninth overall out of the 63 competitors and was second among the women competing, including first in the women's doubles trap. She hit the third most targets in the sporting clays at 91, and was also seventh in the double trap (second among women), finishing with 357 total targets out of a possible 400.
Davis Davenport and Sean McCarty placed 24th and 25 overall, ending with scores of 327 and 326 targets, respectively. Davenport hit the most targets among all competitors in the sporting clays at 93, while McCarty was tied for 11th in the sporting clays.
Up next, the Broncos will compete at the FHSU Invitational in Hays, KS on Sept. 6-8 in their first full-team competition of the year.
