Shotgun Sports Earns 3rd Place at Conference Shoot
(Grand Island, NE) – The Hastings College Shotgun Sports team competed this weekend at the Prairie Valley Circuit Conference Championship. Hastings finished third out of seven teams with a score of 2,269 out of 2,500 targets.

As a team, the Broncos were third in sporting, double skeet, and skeet, as well as fourth in double trap and trap.
In the Men's HOA Individual, senior Hunter Gilbertson finished tied for 11th among the competitors with 462 targets. He was eighth in trap, 11th in sporting, and 18th in skeet doubles. Junior Chase Wieczorek placed 25th with 453 targets, tying the best score and taking second place in sporting and 18th in skeet doubles.
Sophomore Jace Bax was 40th with 438 targets, senior Hayden Thomason was 43rd with 436 targets, and senior Austin Hofts was 49th with 430 targets.
In the Women's HOA Individual, junior Katrice Lyons was eighth with 422 targets (55th overall), being fourth in sporting, and fifth in skeet and skeet doubles. Freshman Abbie Blackwell was 13th with 416 targets (63rd overall). Junior Hannah Sears, was 14th with 414 targets (66th overall).
Other Bronco participants in the HOA Individual included freshman Davis Davenport was 66th with 414 targets, sophomore Mollie Wechsler was 81st with 403 targets, and sophomore Sara Malcolm was 88th with 390 targets. Freshman Sean McCarty and junior Jake Royal were 92nd with 383 targets, while junior Chyenne Tidyman was 104th with 363 targets.
Up next, Hastings will host their Bronco Invitational on Oct. 3-5 at Heartland Shooting Park in Grand Island, NE.
