Women's Bowling Finishes 14th at NAIA West Open
(Lawrence, KS) – The women’s bowling team took 14th out of 17 teams at the NAIA West Open on Saturday and Sunday, going 3-7 with a total pin count of 8195, which was 12th-most among all teams. Hastings was 2-3 and tied for 10th after day one, then went 1-4 in the baker games on day two.

Individually, senior Marissa Ruiz placed highest out of the Broncos, finishing 16th with a pin count of 943 and a 188.6 average in her five games, posting three games of 200 or higher. Sophomore Breanna Miller finished 39th with a total pin count of 864 for an average of 172.8 in her five games, including a 213 in game three.
Junior Langley Riha took 46th with a total of 848 and had an average of 169.6 in five games, going over 190 in her last two games. Junior Hailey Kirchhevel finished 57th with a score of 792 and an average of 158.4 in five games. Senior Alyssa Currie placed 60th with a total of 782, averaging 156.4 in five games.
Up next, Hastings will compete at the KCAC Championships on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 8am.
