The Mustangs swept doubles, winning 6-1 at #2 doubles and 6-2 at #3 doubles. Juniors Josline Carter and Victoria Harris had the most success, winning three games in the 6-3 loss at #1 doubles, as Morningside took a 1-0 lead heading to singles.
Carter had a 4-3 lead at #1 singles, but the Mustangs closed out the set by winning the final three games and won the second set, 6-2. Harris managed to win five games in her 6-2, 6-3 loss at #2 singles.
Morningside lost just three total games at #3, #4, and #5 singles. Junior Abby Harveson kept the first set close, losing 6-3, before the Mustangs closed out the match by winning 6-1 in the second set to seal the 7-0 defeat.
Up next, Hastings will play at Northwestern tomorrow at 12pm in their regular season finale.
