Men's Wrestling Concludes Week at Grand View

(Grimes, IA) – Two days after their first GPAC competition of the season, Hastings sent a few wrestlers to Grimes, IA, with a couple picking up wins at the Grand View Open.
Freshman Carter Horner lost a 9-4 decision to Keaton Rottinghaus of Pratt CC in the freshman/sophomore bracket at 133, then in his first consolation match he picked up an 18-0 tech fall victory over Savieon Garrison of Colby CC. He continued on by defeating Blake Eatman from Iowa Lakes by fall at the 3:38 mark. He concluded his day with a loss to Montana State-Northern in his third consolation match.
In the open bracket at 133, junior Justin Rodriguez started off with an 8-4 decision loss to Ethan Sellers from Life University. Rodriguez was able to bounce back and get a pin over junior teammate Logan Hackman in his first consolation match. He would later lose to Kolten Powers of Montana State-Northern in a 12-8 decision, despite getting two takedowns in the third round.
Up next, Hastings will wrestle at the first GPAC Duals in Sioux City, IA on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 4pm.
