(Hastings, NE) – Wrestling against #10 Doane on Senior Day, the Hastings Broncos lost 47-6 on Saturday afternoon.
Doane won the 125 match by fall, then junior Justin Rodriguez got Hastings on the board with an 11-4 decision win. The Tigers got a pin at 141 and won by forfeit at 149 before pinning the Broncos at 157, 165, and 174 to take a 36-3 lead.
At 184, Doane took the bout by tech fall and got a pin at 197. Sophomore Koen Mattern ended the dual with a 2-0 decision win at 285 over 23rd-ranked Eli Criblez.
Up next, Hastings will wrestle at the Missouri Valley Open on Jan. 23-24, beginning at 10am on the 23rd.
