Men's Golf Dominates GPAC Championships by 13 Strokes; Nielsen Wins Individual Title
(Dakota Dunes, SD) – The Hastings College Men’s Golf Team traveled to Dakota Dunes Country Club to compete at GPAC on Monday and Tuesday. The Broncos won their first GPAC tournament in Hastings’ men’s golf history. The Broncos shot an impressive +22 over the three rounds and won by 13 strokes.
(Dakota Dunes, SD) – The Hastings College Men's Golf Team traveled to Dakota Dunes Country Club to compete at GPAC on Monday and Tuesday. The Broncos won their first GPAC tournament in Hastings' men's golf history. The Broncos shot an impressive +22 over the three rounds and won by 13 strokes.
Leading the Broncos was junior Max Nielsen, who finished one over, making him the winner of the 2026 GPAC Tournament, the first ever Bronco to win the title. His best round was the third, where he shot one under, including six birdies on the first seven holes. Following him was sophomore Taiki Sugawara, who finished three over, scoring him a second-place finish. Sugawara's best round was also the third, where he shot four under.
Senior Henry Kosmicki finished +11 after the three rounds. He also placed seventh overall, with his best rounds being the first and second, where he shot a 75. Senior Ryker Dunkley was close behind, shooting +13, placing him 14th. Sophomore Blake Eddy was +1 in both rounds two and three, while junior Josh Chapman was +9 in round one.
By placing in the top 10, Nielsen, Sugawara, and Kosmicki earned spots on the GPAC All-Tournament Team.
The Broncos will now head to the NAIA Championships in Silvis, IL, on May 12-15 at TPC Deer Run.
