Women's Wrestling Gets Sweep at Home Tridual
(Hastings, NE) – Competing in a tridual in front of their home crowd on Thursday, the Broncos defeated Sioux Falls, 27-21, then dominated Colby Colby Community College, 46-4.

Against Sioux Falls, the Broncos won the first two matches by forfeit, as freshmen Miranda LaJevic and Raelynn O'Connor won at 103 and 110, respectively. At 117, freshman Sarah Spataro delivered a 10-4 decision victory before Sioux Falls won their first match at 124 by fall, making it 13-6 in favor of the Broncos.
Senior Larissa Kaz needed just 52 seconds to get a pin at 131, then junior Reagen Gallaway won by a 12-0 tech fall at 138 to put Hastings ahead 22-6 with five bouts left. The Cougars got a pin at 145, but freshman Jayla Ford responded with a late pin in her bout at 160. Sioux Falls won by fall at 180 and 207, but Hastings still took the opening dual, 27-21.
Against Colby Community College, LaJevic earned a pin 59 seconds into her match at 103 and O'Connor followed with a pin of her own at 110. Hastings won the next three matches by forfeit, as Spataro won at 117, freshman Cherish Faircloth won at 124, and Kaz won at 131 to take a 25-0 lead.
Senior Lisa Hoeflich made quick work at 138 over the Trojans with a pin 50 seconds in, then Colby got on the board with a 12-4 tech fall win at 145 over freshman Carlie Nelson, making it 31-4. Ford got another pin at 160 and freshman Hayden Marks won by fall 17 seconds into the bout. Freshman Alexis Llamas took the 207 bout over the Trojans with a forfeit win, as Hastings took the match, 46-4.
Hastings will resume their season after winter break on Friday, Jan. 9 in a dual at Chadron State, beginning at 2pm.
