Women's Wrestling Wins All 3 Duals at Inaugural GPAC Duals
(Crete, NE) – Competing at the first ever GPAC Duals, Hastings started strong with a 49-0 win over Morningside and won nine of 10 bouts in their 43-6 win over Waldorf, then won by the maximum score of 50-0 over Dakota Wesleyan in their final dual.

Against the Mustangs, freshman Miranda LaJevic claimed the 103 bout by forfeit, and after a 29-second pin at 110 by fellow freshman Raelynn O'Connor, Hastings went up 15-0 on a forfeit win at 117 by freshman Sarah Spataro.
Freshmen Jessica Farmer and Janessa Esquivel earned back to back pins at 124 and 131, then the Broncos took a 29-0 lead on an 11-0 tech fall win by senior Lisa Hoeflich. Junior Reagen Gallaway got a forfeit win at 145 and sophomore Emma Stice needed only 17 seconds to get a pin at 160. Hastings closed out the 49-0 win with forfeit wins at 180 and 207 by freshman Jayla Ford and senior Taylor Rickley.
LaJevic opened the Waldorf dual with a first-minute pin and after a forfeit win by freshman Chloe Brewis at 110, Spataro pinned the Warriors at the 1:15 mark to take a 15-0 lead. Farmer and Esquival continued the domination, as both won by fall at 124 and 131 to take a 25-0 lead halfway through the match.
Hoeflich won by fall at 138, as did Gallaway at 145. Waldorf got on the board with their only win in the match, a pin at 160. Ford won by forfeit at 180 and freshman Alexis Llamas pulled out a 4-1 decision win over 19th-ranked Skyler Bruno, making the final score 43-6.
Hastings went up 15-0 to start off the Dakota Wesleyan dual with forfeit wins by LaJevic, O'Connor, and Spataro at 103, 110, and 117. Brevis got a pin wrestling at 124 and freshman Cherish Faircloth gave the Broncos a 25-0 lead on a pin at 131.
Hoeflich won by fall at 138 and freshman Carlie Nelson claimed the 145 bout by fall. Ford needed only 41 seconds to pin Dakota Wesleyan at 160, then after a forfeit win by sophomore Mandy Perez at 180, Rickley got a pin at the 1:04 mark at 207.
Up next, Hastings will host the GPAC Championships on Saturday, Feb. 28 in Lynn Farrell Arena.
