(Salina, KS) – Facing Kansas Wesleyan on the road, the men’s tennis team came up short in a 6-1 final against the Coyotes on Sunday.
(Salina, KS) – Facing Kansas Wesleyan on the road, the men's tennis team came up short in a 6-1 final against the Coyotes on Sunday.
Kansas Wesleyan swept the doubles matches, winning 6-2 at #1 and #2 doubles and 6-3 at #3 doubles to take a 1-0 lead.
The Coyotes won at #1 singles, but sophomore Ben Hafer came back from a 6-4 first set loss at #2 singles to force a third set super-tiebreak with a 7-5 second set win. He came out victorious in the tiebreak, winning 10-8.
Sophomore Alex Hafer lost 6-2, 6-3 at #3 singles and Kansas Wesleyan lost just three total games in the other three singles matches combined to wrap up the 6-1 win over Hastings.
Up next, Hastings will play at Bethel tomorrow at 2pm.
