Men's Tennis Outlasted by Midland in GPAC Quarterfinals
(Omaha, NE) – The men’s tennis team concluded their season on Friday morning in the GPAC Quarterfinals, losing 4-0 to Midland.
(Omaha, NE) – The men's tennis team concluded their season on Friday morning in the GPAC Quarterfinals, losing 4-0 to Midland.
Midland clinched the doubles points with a 6-0 win at #2 doubles and 6-3 at #1 doubles. They also had a 5-2 lead at #3 doubles when the action stopped to move into singles play.
The Warriors got the first singles points at #3 singles, winning 6-0, 6-3, followed by a 6-0, 6-0 win at #5 singles. Midland clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at #2 singles.
Sophomore Joel Carter and freshman Gavin Watterson had the most competitive singles matches for the Broncos at #1 and #6 singles, both losing 6-4 in the first set. Carter was down 2-0 in the second set and Watterson was tied at one when the match was clinched, and Midland also held a 6-3, 3-1 lead at #4 singles.
The loss ends the season for the Broncos, as they will start making preparations for next season.
