Women's Soccer Beats Bethel 5-1; Lampe Has Career-High 3 Assists
(Hastings, NE) – Riding a four-game winning streak, the women’s soccer team continued their winning ways with a dominant 5-1 win over Bethel, as senior Megan Lampe had a career-high three assists in the game.

(Hastings, NE) – Riding a four-game winning streak, the women's soccer team continued their winning ways with a dominant 5-1 win over Bethel, as senior Megan Lampe had a career-high three assists in the game.
In the first half, the Broncos scored four goals, beginning with a goal by senior Jesse Chartier from Madison Rhodes in the seventh minute. Rhodes found the back of the net off of a pass by senior Megan Lampe in the 16th minute.
Hastings was able to add to their lead a few minutes later in the 20th minute on an unassisted goal by Chartier, her second of the day. They would score once more in the 35th minute, as junior Jasmin Bislev Nielsen scored off of Lampe's pass to make it a 4-0 lead at the break.
Through the first 45 minutes, the Broncos led in shots, 12-3, and shots on goal, 8-2. Chartier, as well as sophomores Payton Tanner and Sophia Lee led the team with two shots in the opening half.
The Broncos continued to control the game in the second half, scoring in the 52nd minute on the third assist from Lampe, this time finding freshman Avery Higgins for the goal for a 5-0 lead. Hastings outshot the Threshers 14-1 in the second half in the 5-1 victory.
Rhodes led the team with five shot attempts in the game, including four on goal, and Higgins added three shots with two on goal. Lampe had her career-high three assists and sophomore Tatiana Villasenor improved to 5-0 on the year with two saves in the shutout win.
Up next, Hastings will host Friends on Saturday, Sept. 13th at 5:30pm.
