Trailing early 5-2, Kiernan Paulk found a wide open Olivia Kugler for the three to tie the game and then after a defensive stop, Kendell Sawinsky hit a wide open Mariyah Avila for the three and the 8-5 lead.
After the Tigers got a bucket form Mak Hatcliff, Carly Leners buried a three of her own as the lead grew to four. The Lady Broncos would take a three point lead into the second quarter after Katharine Hamburger hit a layup with :17 to go.
Then, everything went the way of Doane as the Tigers opened the second quarter on a 9-0 run en route to scoring 32 points in the second quarter and held a 54-29 lead at halftime.
Turnovers were truly costly for Hastings with 25 compared to just 12 for Doane.
Hastings also struggled from the floor hitting 38.6 percent (22-for-57) while the Tigers hit 50 percent (34-for-68). Rebounds also went to Doane at 38-to-33.
Alyssa Baker led Hastings with 11 points as she went 3-for-8 from the floor. Avila added 10 points with Allison Bauer finished with nine, Kugler added eight and Leners finished with seven.
Hastings is now 2-2 (0-1) on the year and will be back in action Saturday Nov. 19 as Mount Marty comes town with tipoff set for 2:00 pm inside Lynn Farrell Arena.
