Men's Soccer Gets Key Win Over Dordt

(Hastings, NE) - Hastings College's men's soccer team competed against Dordt for their senior night at Lloyd Wilson Field on Friday. The final score resulted in a Bronco victory at 2-1.
In the first half, Hastings took eight shots compared to Dordt's six. The Broncos also had four corner kicks in the first half. Hastings also had two saves throughout the game.
In the 19th minute of the first half, sophomore Tim Berger scored the first goal of the game with the assist from freshman Wade McWhorter. Berger scored another impressive goal in the 30th minute of the game with another assist by McWhorter.
In the second half in the 70th minute, Dordt scored their first goal for the game. The Broncos didn't score in the second half, taking five shots along with three corner kicks, but held off the Defenders, 2-1.
Dordt took 17 shots to Hastings' 13, but the Broncos led in shots on goal, 8-3. Berger scored on his only two shot attempts, while McWhorter took a team-high three shots, all of which were on goal, along with his two assists. Junior Ethan Watkins recorded two saves in the win.
Next, the Broncos travel to Orange City, IA to compete against Northwestern College. The game will be held at NEC Soccer Complex on Saturday at 3:00pm.
