Men's Soccer Picks Up Draw Against Kansas Wesleyan

(Hastings, NE) – Taking on Kansas Wesleyan out of the KCAC at Lloyd Wilson Field on Saturday, the men's soccer team finished their match against the Coyotes with a 0-0 draw.
The first half saw Hastings take 10 shots to one shot for Kansas Wesleyan. The Broncos had four shots on goal in the first half to the Coyotes' zero.
Senior Wade McWhorter had two shots on goal in the first 20 minutes. Later in the half, senior David Hoti and sophomore Moises Trochez came off the bench and each got shots on goal, but the score remained tied at zero at the break. Hoti and freshman Johnny Pedroza added two shot attempts in the half.
In the second half, senior Juan Lopez-Arteaga took two shots, including a shot on goal in the 65th minute, while McWhorter attempted a third shot on a header. Kansas Wesleyan took four of their five shots in the final 14 minutes, but the game ended with a 0-0 draw. Hastings led the match 14-5 on shots and 5-0 on shots on goal. The Broncos also had eight corner kicks, but the Coyote defense held strong.
For the match, McWhorter led the team with three shot attempts, two of which were on goal. Lopez-Arteaga, Pedroza, and Hoti each attempted two shots, with Hoti and Lopez-Arteaga getting two on goal.
