Berger's First Half Hat Trick Leads to 5-1 Win
(Hastings, NE) - Hastings Men’s Soccer team took on Bethel College at Lloyd Wilson Field this Wednesday. The Broncos scored another win with the final score being 5-1, as sophomore Tim Berger recorded a hat trick in the first half alone.

(Hastings, NE) - Hastings Men's Soccer team took on Bethel College at Lloyd Wilson Field this Wednesday. The Broncos scored another win with the final score being 5-1, as sophomore Tim Berger recorded a hat trick in the first half alone.
In the first half Hastings scored three goals after taking nine shots. Bethel only had two shots and one of those was blocked by junior Ethan Watkins.
In the first minute, Berger fired a penalty kick goal into the back of the net. In the 23rd minute, Berger scored another goal with an assist from senior David Hoti. Right before the end of the half in the 43rd minute, Berger scored yet another goal, giving him a career-high three goals.
The Broncos had ten shots in the second half with another two of them resulting in points compared to Bethel's two.
In the 57th minute of the game Bethel scored their first goal. In the 75th minute, freshman Ricardo Herrera scored another goal for the Broncos with an assist by senior Juan Lopez-Arteaga. To score the final point of the game, sophomore Moises Trochez fired it into the back of the net with a header assist by senior Sebastian Palmer.
Berger attempted six shots, including five on goal, and scored the first three goals. Hoti took five shots, four of which were on goal, and Herrera attempted three shots with two on goal, including the one score.
Hastings travels to Sioux City, Iowa next to compete against Morningside at Elwood Olson Field on Saturday, Sept. 20th at 5:30pm.
