Graves, Merryman, and Salter Win Events at Opening Indoor Meet

Sophomore Parker Graves won the mile with the best time of 4:31.14. Senior Deshawn Burks was second in the race at 4:34.41 and sophomore Evan Struss was third at 4:41.29. In the 400m, junior Zane Eggleston was eighth at 52.90, freshman August Phye was 10th at 53.58, and freshman Josiah Hawley was 11th at 54.18.
Junior Kaiden Merryman won the 60m prelims with a time of 6.84 and improved upon that in the finals with a B-Standard and school-record time of 6.77, winning in the final as well. In the 60m hurdles, Eggleston qualified for the finals by taking eighth in the prelims (8.92) and then took seventh in the finals with a time of 8.97.
In the 800m, senior Tyler Salter won the event, finishing at 1:57.51. Freshman Jordael Hernandez placed sixth in the race (2:09.87) and freshman Xavier Roderiques was ninth (2:17.43). Freshman Ben Mages was fifth in the 600y at 1:22.11, then in the 200m, sophomore Rayne Chavez-Major was third at 23.86. Also in the 200m, junior Noah Hudnall was third (24.07) and sophomore Adrian Lobeda was fourth (24.19).
In the weight throw, senior David Beadle took fourth place with a top throw of 51'03.00". Freshman Oliver Janik was 10th in the event (39'03.75), along with junior Titus Glanz in 13th (36'05.50") and freshman Ryan Oberg in 14th (35'10.00"). Oberg placed seventh in the shot put (42'00.00"), followed by Janik in eighth (41'08.00"), Beadle in ninth (39'03.25"), and Glanz in 12th (35'06.75").
Sophomore Cody Defeo finished in sixth place in the triple jump with a top jump of 41'08.00" In the long jump, sophomore Jack Scrivner placed sixth (21'09.50"), Chavez-Major was seventh (21'02.00"), Defeo took eighth (21'01.50"), and senior Chance Elwood placed 13th (19'10.25").
