Men's Track and Field Sets Personal Records in Lincoln and Crete
(Lincoln, NE/Crete, NE) – The men’s track and field team had a few participants in the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational that began on Friday, while the rest competed in the Saturday portion of the Fred Beile Classic.

Junior Kaiden Merryman took second and ran a new personal record in the 60m dash with a time of 6.69, improving his school record and putting him to an 'A-Standard' for Nationals. The race also moved him up to second in national rankings for NAIA.
In the 800m, senior Tyler Salter ran a 1:54.13 to finish sixth, while sophomore Evan Struss placed 11th with a time of 1:55.08, which set him a new personal record and improved his time on the top 10 charts to keep him in fourth. In the 600m, senior Deshawn Burks finished eighth overall with a time of 1:22.32.
Sophomore Parker Graves was 14th in the mile at 4:24.29, improving his personal record and moving him up on the top ten chart into sixth.
At the Fred Beile Classic on Saturday, Merryman won the 60m dash with a 'B-Standard' time of 6.75. Junior Noah Hudnall finished 3rd with a time of 7.20, setting a new personal record and freshman Cody Hrdy finished fifth at 7.22.
In the 400m, junior Zane Eggleston ran a time of 52.86, getting fifth place and freshman August Phye was eighth at 53.18. In the 600m, freshman Corey Fields ran a time of 1:30.24 to take 12th. Freshman Xavier Roderiques ran a time of 1:35.20, setting a new personal record and placing him 18th.
Three freshmen finished ninth, 10th, and 11th in the 1000m with Henry Yazzie finishing ninth with a time of 2:46.71, Jordael Hernandez finishing 10th with a time of 2:48.59, and Thomas Thomas finishing 11th with a time of 2:48.62.
In the weight throw seeded, senior David Beadle placed sixth with a throw of 17.10m. In the shot put, sophomore Jorge Vazquez got 11th with a throw of 13.35 meters, with teammate Edward Holly finishing 12th, with a throw of 13.14m. Freshman Ryan Oberg threw 12.49m, finishing 17th and junior Titus Glanz was 29th at 10.89. In the weight throw, freshman Oliver Janik had a throw of 12.07m, placing him 28th, and Oberg was 30th at 11.80m.
In the long jump sophomore Cody Defeo jumped 6.32m, placing him ninth, while senior Chance Elwood jumped 5.64 meters, getting 18th place. Freshman Alex Reynolds was 23rd at 5.21m. Elwood was tied for 11th in the high jump at 1.74m.
Hastings will be back in action Saturday, Feb. 14th at the Concordia Indoor Invitational beginning at 10am.
