Men's Track and Field Begins Outdoor Season at Utah Tech Invitational
(St. George, UT) – The men’s track and field team competed in Utah at the Utah Tech Invitational on Saturday.

Sophomore Evan Struss placed seventh in the 800m at 1:55.80, the best among all NAIA participants, currently ranking seventh overall in the NAIA.
Freshman Cody Hrdy was 10th in the 100m with a time of 11.18, while junior Noah Hudnall was 15th at 11.47. Hudnall also took part in the 200m, finishing 23rd at 23.27. In the 400m, junior Rafer Severson took 15th with a time of 50.75, senior Tyler Salter was 17th at 51.50 and freshman Corey Fields finished 24th with a time of 55.46.
Also in the 800m, freshman Thomas Thomas was 26th (2:06.45), freshman Ben Mages was 27th (2:06.67), and freshman Jordael Hernandez was 31st (2:09.57).Freshman Gareth Szabo took 41st in the 5000m at 17:53.49, while freshman Xavier Roderiques was 49th in the 1500m at 4:46.50.
In the field events, freshman Oliver Janik placed 15th in the discus at 39.60m and was 17th in the shot put at 11.44m.
Up next, Hastings will compete at the Central Nebraska Challenge in Kearney, NE on Saturday, Mar. 28, beginning at 11am.
