Day 1 Recap Women's Track and Field at GPAC Championships

Senior Jaida Rowe was second in the 100m hurdle prelims with an 'A'-Standard time of 13.91, tying her school record. Sophomores Ava Reese and Lucy Carey were fourth and seventh in the event at 14.48 and 14.76 to qualify for the finals, while senior Kathryn Columbus was 22nd at 17.38.
In the heptathlon, sophomore Lucy Carey is currently second through four events with 2749 points. She won the 100m hurdles at 14.67, then was third in the high jump (1.52m), fourth in the 200m (26.58) and 10th in the shot put (9.12m).
Sophomore Ellie Lloyd was sixth in the javelin with a top throw of 37.00m to earn All-Conference honors.
The 4x800m relay team of freshman Gianna Humphrey, freshman Brooklyn Sutter, freshman Paige Faimon, and junior Grace Dowe placed seventh with a time of 9:56.48. In the 100m prelims, G. Humphrey placed 15th at 12.55.
